“To catch the Ronchi di Manzano’s wines soul, you just need to taste them.”
The Ronchi di Manzano winery was established in 1969, while the vineyards have existed for centuries and are considered to be some of the best in the region.
The region, Friuli, has been overlooked for many years in favour of more fashionable and “luxurious” Italian wine regions but is now internationally recognised as producing Italy’s greatest aromatic white wines. Recent investment by Italian powerhouses such as the Frescobaldi and Antinori family is testament to this, however, Ronchi di Manzano has been one of the leading lights of the region for over 50 years achieving the highest accolades for their aromatic wines with rich minerality.
Their descendant Roberta continues the family tradition with great passion and with skills acquired all around the world in places such as France, California and Italy. She has brought innovation to the winery, something she believes is fundamental for the company’s success. As soon as Roberta joined the family business, she replanted all the oldest vineyards, increasing their density per hectare. She has also introduced limited chemical intervention in the vineyard and strict handpicking for the harvest to protect the quality of the grapes.
