Quinta da Falorca

Formed by the Costa Barros de Figueiredo Family, more than five generations ago, Quinta Vale das Escadinhas consists today of four vineyards on the Silgueiros sub-region, Vale das Escadinhas, Barreiro, Esmoitada and Falorca, with an area of production of 13 ha. All of their vines have been reconverted over the last 30 years, and a significant investment has been made for the purpose of winemaking and the building of a modern winemaking facility. Given its exceptional conditions, Quinta Vale das Escadinhas also has another 10 ha, providing an agricultural and floristry output with olive grove, hazel-nut and pine-trees.

Located in the heart of the river Dão, 10 kilometres from Viseu, Quinta Vale das Escadinhas has a total area of 23 hectares. With 13 hectares of vineyards, that lie over the river Dão’s slopes, facing south featuring a complete exposure to the sun, Quinta Vale das Escadinhas has all the special characteristic of the region´s estates, and produces some of the best Dão wines, with several awards won over the years.

These wines are beautiful examples of the complexity, quality and drinkability Däo offers for red wines. They are great examples of why Portugal is so much more than Port.
